ILLUSTRATION, DRAWING AND everything in between.
For years I have explored anatomical drawing with an influence in etching.
I draw the bodies of naked women with non-existing faces. My erotic depictions of female identity pay a tribute to society’s obstinate beauty ideals that tend to rest in a valley of bones, while simultaneously confronting an audience with soberness about today’s expectations of women. Under these idiosyncratic universes of beautiful girls and nature-induced surroundings is my innate impulse to understand the things that make up our existence, let alone my own identity as a woman in the eye of public desire. A conversation about female identity, but really about existing while aware of it. It has become visual language to describe the body as form and not as object.
